Andersson is President & CEO of Yazaki North & Central America and Yazaki Europe

Canton, Mich., March 3, 2018 – Bo Andersson has been named President & CEO of Yazaki North & Central America. This is in addition to his role as President of Yazaki Europe, which he has held since July 2017. He is responsible for 129 locations, in 28 countries, 140,000 team members and more than $8 billion in revenue.

A former senior officer in the Swedish armed forces, Bo began his automotive career at SAAB AB, where he was Vice President of Purchasing. He joined General Motors in 1993, progressing through several purchasing roles before taking over the entire operation in 1999. In 2001 he was promoted to Group Vice President for Global Purchasing and Supply Chain, becoming a member of GM’s top management team. He was instrumental in cutting $2 billion from GM’s purchasing and supply chain costs every year.

In 2009 Bo moved to Russia to take on the role of President and CEO of GAZ Group – Russia’s largest manufacturer of light commercial vehicles, buses, specialty vehicles, and heavy trucks. GAZ Group launched several new vehicles while he was CEO, and he took the company from losses of $1 billion in 2008 to consistent profits.

In 2013, Bo Andersson was appointed the first non-Russian CEO of AVTOVAZ, Russia’s largest automaker, which manufactured cars under the LADA brand, Renault, Nissan, and Datsun.

From 2016 to July 2017 he lead Bo Group Industries as an industry advisor for both global automotive and non-automotive organizations.
